Owen was awakened early by the sound of his mobile going off. He grumbled angrily and briefly thought about throwing it out the window before checking the message. Torchwood. He growled at his phone and begrudgingly kicked the duvet off of him. He sat up in the bed and scratched his head, letting out a loud yawn.
“5:30” Owen muttered after checking the clock on his bed stand. “Bloody brilliant, Jack. I see you couldn’t be bothered to call at a decent hour.” What could possibly be going on with the Rift that couldn’t wait a few more hours? He headed off to the bathroom, thinking that Ianto had better have one damn good cup of coffee waiting for him when he got to work.
Owen stepped outside, the dawn blinding him as he unlocked his car door and got inside. He drove through the near-deserted streets of Cardiff, thinking that everyone else in town had enough sense to be in bed now, why doesn’t Jack? The drive was only about 15 minutes long, and as be pulled into the convention center’s parking lot, he expected to see Tosh’s car, maybe even Gwen’s, but he found it empty. He parked his car and got out, looking around suspiciously. Maybe Jack just needed Owen for this case. But no doubt, Ianto would be here, it seemed like he was always here, but when Owen around to the entrance of the tourist center, only to find a locked door. “…o…kay…” Owen said to the door. He pulled out his mobile and called Jack.
