Yo-ho and a cuppa coffee! (Torchwood team welcome post, come one, come all!)

As everyone gathered over to view the CCTV, Tosh quietly moved from out in front of Jack, noting he there was something different about him today. She couldn't put her finger on what, but it seemed like a nice change.

She walked over to the conference area to grab a few blank papers and a glass of water, when she suddenly detected the distinct smell of rather strong alcohol. Tosh sighed. She knew there was only one person who could possibly consume that much liquor without dying.

Turning around, she saw Owen trying to sneak in and grab some coffee. "Is it me, or today SUCH a GREAT day?!"

"Is it me, or today SUCH a GREAT day?!"

Ugh, Owen's head pounded with each emphasis Tosh put on her oh-so-chipper greeting that morning.

"Tosh, Tosh," Owen began to say, before it fell into a whisper so as not to aggravate his headache further. He gave her a look that was supposed to be reproachful, but probably ended up being more sickly and pathetic. He staggered over to his desk and collapsed into his chair, less quietly than he had hoped.

"I... What's going on?" he asked, trying desperately not to seem as hungover as he felt.

Ianto popped up on the coffee bay, smiling.

"Morning, Owen, what changed your mind?" He asked, crossing his arms in front of his chest. Tosh seemed amused by Owen's state, and so was Ianto. He really looked bad, he looked sick, even. Ianto approached the coffee machine and the grinder.

"Should I make you a fresh coffee? This one's been here for almost an hour." Ianto asked Owen, pleasantly, lowering his tone of voice the closer he got to his co-worker.

"Morning, Owen, what changed your mind?"

God, did he look smug. Owen thought about saying he was interested in that parrot pirate alien thing, but he wasn't sure what Ianto had said... Or even if he'd said anything at all...

"Should I make you a fresh coffee? This one's been here for almost an hour."

Good, he changed the subject... Fresh coffee would be positively blinding, but right now, Owen was more focused on getting caffeine than he was on how he got it. But then again, it did mean more work for the teaboy, and Ianto did so love that coffee machine.

He picked up the lukewarm coffee, looked at Ianto and said "Fresh coffee, yes," as he took a sip. Ugh. Cold coffee was not one of Owen's favorite things.

"Morning, Owen, what changed your mind?"

Toshiko wanted to burst out laughing at Ianto's rather smart-ass expression. She didn't though, as she had tortured Dr. Harper quite enough. Instead she saw down in front of Owen upon his desk, so daintily and gave him a sympathetic smile. "Aw, cheer up. Ianto's famous coffee will do you some good. Of course I can't say the same if Jack lectures you... again."

She was feeling really good today, as her legs hung from the side of the desk and she swung them like a little girl. Seeing Owen always made her day, drunk or not - she was attracted to him.

If only he saw her that way...

Tosh swung her legs in front of Owen. If the motion of it didn't make his head spin, he'd find the act quite provocative. Tosh may be a shrinking violet most of the time, but God, did she have gorgeous legs. He found himself staring at her legs, too hypnotized to notice his splitting headache and his turning stomach. A sudden twinge in his throat knocked him back to his senses. Oh God, he was going to be sick. He tried to smirk sarcastically at Tosh and Ianto, as he stood up and attempted to calmly walk to the bathroom. Maybe throwing up will help him feel better.

Jack hadn't immediately noticed Owen's entrance to the Hub, being more concerned anyway with Alien Things and less with Stupid Things Owen Did (though, you know, near miss). As such, he'd wandered back to his office for a couple of minutes to check on something he'd been keeping track of - Crinaeaen (and try pronouncing that at two in the morning) that he'd been tracking on and off for a week or so, not necessarily harmful but the possibility existed. He did eventually have to wander back (only to realize he left his coffee on his desk; ah, well), and spotted Owen.

"Decided to turn up after all?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. Owen was heading in the opposite direction. Either he'd stop or he wouldn't, Jack was used to that.

For a moment there, everything had gotten quiet. It was almost weird. Tosh just stared down at her hands; she could feel Owen's gaze upon her and it gave her a warm feeling inside.

She spotted Jack heading over in the little group's direction and Owen smirk as he went towards the restroom, in which she assumed was consequence for last night.

"So, Jack," Tosh rose from where she sat. "Any new observations?"

From what she could tell, it did quite look like Owen was out and about last night. But why would he have a reason to be near the rift? If anything, Tosh knew Owen hated being around work before 10 AM.

"So, Jack, any new observations?"

Jack shook his head to Tosh's question. "Not really. We're going to have to find that Crinaeaen from the other week, though," he told her, somewhere between bemused and amused with the idea of it. The last time they'd tried that, well -- there was a reason Jack doubted the Crinaeaen's peaceful intentions (usually things didn't mean well when they killed him, go figure). "She's gone off the radar again."

Owen hung over the toilet bowl, flushing down his punishment for last night's gallivanting. He got up and washed water over his face, looking up in the mirror. God, he looked like shit. Never. Drinking. Again. He fixed himself up as best as he could and headed back downstairs. He thought he heard Jack before he got to the bathroom, and he really did not want to have to deal with him right now.

"Not really. We're going to have to find that Crinaeaen from the other week, though."

A frown slid onto Tosh's once happy expressions. That damn Crinaeaen, she was unusually tired of it already. Nothing bugged her more than finding a strong signal, running after it and reaching it one second too late.

She heard a beeping sound from CCTV area and rushed over. Picking up her glassed and typing furiously, they had picked something up - someone had aroused the weevils and Toshiko had a feeling it was the imposter Owen...

Owen stumbled down the stairs, back to the main floor of the Hub. He could swear he was growing weaker by the minute. This cannot be just a hangover, he thought to himself, before falling down the last few steps.

Gwen was at her computer busy checking the police reports to see if there were any weird occurances they didn't pick up on. She rubbed her temple, knowing that a headache was imminent.
Half was through the reports of South Wales' finest she heard a crash.
Picking up her gun from the desk she carefully edged towards the stairs. Owen was slumped at the bottom of the stairs, pale and clammy.
She hastily tucked the gun away and nelt down besides him to check his pulse.
"Jack! Get over here, Owen's down."

Tosh heard a stumble and crash coming from the stairwell.

"Jack! Get over here, Owen's down."

She heard Gwen cry and jumped off her chair to rush over, but the beeping began sounding off louder. Signals and coordinates were bouncing off the screen like mad and Tosh did her best to decipher the scrolling text as it zoomed past. Thank God for shorthand.

"We've got a bigger problem!" Tosh yelled. "Something's set the radar off and it doesn't look good."

Looking back at the CCTV, she saw the mysterious "Owen" prowling about followed by a band of weevils. She knew this time it was an imposter, but what could they have wanted to do with Owen?

Ianto ran towards Tosh and her computer, looking at the CCTV footage yet again, incredulously. "Is that Owen? Or someone who looks like him? Being followed by an army of suddenly well-behaved weevils?" He asked, because he could be wrong, the footage wasn't exactly clear, but that's what it looked like.

He didn't wait for an answer, though, because he wouldn't know what to do with it, and went to Gwen and Owen instead. He thought about helping her carry Owen off to the gurney, but Pirate-Alien-Bird was still there. Ianto went to the medical bay and wheeled the gurney off to one of the morgue drawers, placing the alien-bird-pirate in there, and replacing the covers. Now they could carry Owen onto it.

"Come on, Gwen" He said. "Let's carry him off to the gurney, he needs to be a little more comfy."

Gwen rolled Owen into the recovery position, making sure his airway was clear. She checked his pulse again, it was strong but slowly ebbing.
Ianto appeared at her side,
"Come on, Gwen Let's carry him off to the gurney, he needs to be a little more comfy."
"Ok, can you grab his legs for me?" Gwen listed his head and balanced it on her bent knee while getting a better grip on his under his arms before standing up.

Ianto did what Gwen had asked, and both of them carried Owen away almost effortlessly. After they were done, Ianto stood there looking at the doctor's pale face.

"Something tells me this really isn't all because of some hangover." He said gloomily. Something had happened to Owen, or someone had, even, because it was beginning to look like the person on the CCTV footage wasn't Owen at all.

"Probably not," Jack commented, having moved to get a look at the medic and make sure he was alright. He'd caught a glance at Tosh's computer screen, and it wasn't exactly promising. It left him, in fact, just enough time to wonder who the fuck would clone Owen, if that was what had happened (and it looked likely), and why. Apparently to put together a team of Weevils and take over the world, he thought wryly. "Get him to the med bay and we'll see if we can't wake him up.. Tosh, check if there's any Rift activity corresponding to the body double's showing up."

It was, if anything, a reasonable bet, around here.

Gwen scrambled around the medbay looking for anything that might help, her basic police first aid kicking in.
She grabbed a piece of paper towel and soaked it in water before gently wiping Owen's face.
"If it is partily a hangover we should get some fluids into him, who knows how to put one of those IV's in?"

"Are you sure we need to do that?" Ianto asked, looking freaked out. "I mean, I've seen it done, but I don't think I know how deep it needs to go without being too much..."

Owen was looking quite dehydrated, anyway, and Gwen was probably right.

"I honestly don't know" Gwen started to look worried herself. She dabbed gently round his neck with the towel, hoping his skin would absorb some of the moisture.

As soon as she secured tracking on the "faux Owen" Toshiko rushed over to Gwen and Ianto to help the real Owen. She grabbed his wrist double checking his pulse. It was there, but faint. She looked at Gwen. "Get me an IV bag an some tape, whatever this is is sucking Owen dry. He's getting weaker by the minute."

Tosh quickly took the needle and flawlessly pricked the top of Owen's hand, starting the IV. Taping it down so it wouldn't move, Tosh left Gwen and Ianto a few directions and told them to keep watch over him and alert if there were any sudden movements. She headed back to the CCTV to check up on how the situation outside was. It wasn't looking good at all...

Ianto looked at Gwen, one lifted eyebrow.

"Who knew?" He said, admiration in his voice. He looked over at Owen, pale, dry Owen, and frowned.

"Get me an IV bag an some tape, whatever this is is sucking Owen dry. He's getting weaker by the minute."
Gwen sighed with release and hooked Owen up with the sticky pads to the heart monitor.
"Thank god Tosh know's whats she's doing."
She smiled at Ianto before going to the trolley and getting a sheet to cover him with.
"What do we do now?"

Ianto shrugged, because really, not much he could do medically, at all.

"Now, we wait. I suppose." He said, grimacing more than he was smiling.
