Helping Hand (attn: Jack Harkness, Torchwood 3 team)

With her black medic case close to her side, Martha led a small group of U.N.I.T soliders towards the wreckage of an alien space-ship. She tugged on the black uniform she was required to wear now. She hated the uniforminaty of it all. She would rather be wearing her black trousers, tank top and white lab coat. She wasn't a solider, she was a doctor. She was only meant to help the injured aliens before they took it back for questioning.

When she finally came to the space-shift, the smell invaded her senses. Martha covered her mouth and nose to block out the smell of death. Outside of the ship, among the wreckage that caught afire, was a charred corpse of a undefinable alien. Even if the remains had not been chared, she couldn't help the poor thing now.

"We've got a live one," shouted one of the soliders from the otherside of the space-ship. Martha quickly made her way over to otherside. Tears burned her eyes but they did not fall. Bundled safely in the arms of its deceased parents was young alien child. It's purple eyes looked back at her with fear.

"What should we do with it, mum?" one of the soldiers asked, looking at Martha.

Martha quickly pulled her new mobile from her pocket and dailed a familar number. This person would know what to do. She wouldn't let them kill the harmless child and U.N.I.T didn't have the resources for this kind of thing. She could only think of one person who might know what to do.
