| All I have to say for now is that it was awesome discussing it with Jen in real time. I loved it, and we have to do it again.
*is now patiently waiting for the others to watch it*

| Close to the end, I was having a panic attack, swear I was! Oh, and shouting at the screen 'You can't DO THAT to the Doctor!'
Er, exactly what counts as a spoiler, anyway? Cause I wanted to go into some detail, but wasn't quite sure how I ought to go about that.

| I thought David Tennant's acting was so superb in this episode, he deserves some kind of award for it.
And, well, a spoiler (in my opinion) is saying anything about the plot, I guess. Anything that might clue people in to what happens.

| Oh. So it's like cutting a review over on LJ, got it. And David Tennant is just a brilliant actor, full stop. I got so fond of his acting in DW that I tracked down other things he's been in. Haven't laid my hands on Casanova yet, but I'm sure I'll like it at least. Love him in every other role I've seen him in from cop to crazy-ward resident to mad wizard. And even when he's a psychopath. (spoiler-marking the rest of this post, cause it's detail heavy) - Spoiler:
For the episode...well, if I were Donna I'd lounge around and get some sun too, so long as it was safe. She was looking awfully pale there. But damn I'd have been right there WITH him on the train - a sapphire waterfall? Be still my rockhound heart! Oh, I thought I was going to go mad when that thingy fixated on the Doctor and stole his freedom to speak on his own. And when they were hauling him to the door I panicked. Flailed and yelled at the screen and everything! But the part when I started needing tissues is when he asked what the hostess' name was, and no one knew. She was magnificent in the end, and no one there even knew her name! *bawls* Of course when the Doctor got back to Donna's poolside and the first thing she did was hug him...*sniffle* Oh he's needed her for ages, and never knew it till now.

| I'm a big fan of David Tennant myself, and the first thing I watched of him was Casanova, then Harry Potter, and then when I heard he was the Tenth Doctor I was ecstatic. Then I tracked down all his stuff (there are 2 movies and 2 shorts on youtube), and I still haven't watched Takin' Over the Asylum and Blackpool, that's all I still need to watch. But I think he's brilliant, really, really good, and I would die to see him be Hamlet, but I can't afford flight+ticket, you know? =P - Spoiler:
I agree completely with what you said. This episode really made me think about us, humans. How quickly we panic, how quickly we jump to conclusions, and what horrible things we'll do and make others do when we're scared, and then how quickly we backtrack when we're proven wrong. It was really horrible to watch the Doctor losing himself and his freedom, I just wanted to hold him because he was so scared. And he was trying, really, really trying to regain control, and you could see it. I think if it weren't for David Tennant's brilliance, it wouldn't have been so emotional, but jesus. Yeah, and then the one woman who saved them all, and nobody knew who she was. Donna, I felt, just gave that hug everyone likes to get when things go wrong, didn't she? The hug of a true friend. I really liked that.

| I'm completely on the same page with you two. - Spoiler:
It actually almost HURT me to see humanity painted in such stark colors in this episode. Sometimes the nicest people can do the most horrible things under pressure or out of fear. I always knew that fear made people do crazy things but...I never really thought about it the way this episode made me think about it. Just painfully emotionally on a lot of accounts.
And yeah...DT was amazing, but let's not discount the actress who played Sky, because she just MADE this episode for me. - Spoiler:
I have literally never been as effected psychologically by a television show as I was by this one. I got chills, my heart raced, I wanted to cry, scream, and grab onto the Doctor to hold on for dear life and play tug of war with the mob. Guh, David just knocked it out of the park.

| - Spoiler:
Oh God, yes, Sky. Jen, you know I love an actor from the moment he/she plays a psycho, so how could I let this one go? She was amazing. Gave me the chills, she did. Remember Blink? Yeah, I think this was creepier because of her, and because of how humans were portrayed - because it's true.

| It was so very creepy! Fab eppy! On other things, I recently bought Blackpool and that is the weirdest most awesome thing! I was laughing when my friend was trying to explain what it was to me and now I know why...it really cannot be described. It's just awesome! | |
