Yo-ho and a cuppa coffee! (Torchwood team welcome post, come one, come all!)

Jack stayed by the monitors, keeping an eye on what he had started thinking of in his head as Owen's clone - he knew it was at least superficially true, if a bit bad-sci-fi-film, so it fitted well enough for the time being. The team had Owen covered, and he listened to what they were saying as he watched the screen.

"I think we might want to pay a visit to the apparent root of the problem," he said, turning back to the others as he thought. "As long as there's nothing here we can do but keep him stable, and we only need one person to do that, we should go have a look. Tosh, can you stay and keep us updated en route if the body double goes anywhere?" And keep an eye on Owen, the command beneath the question was implied.

Tosh nodded, knowing exactly what Jack was thinking. Working with him for many years, she had the advantage of almost knowing what he would say and mean. She moved back to Owen, checking the monitors and heart rate. He seemed stable at the moment, Tosh hoped they would find out what was going on in time. She didn't want to have to lose another member of the team....

Gwen gave Tosh's arm a squeeze when walking past, hoping she could pass some reassurance on to her. She grabbed the gun from her desk and pulled on her jacket.
"Right Jack, whats the plan?"

"Sir, am I required to go, as well?" Ianto asked because, well, his part in the field missions wasn't exactly defined, yet. He'd like to go, but he couldn't see where he was needed, right away.

He looked at Tosh and gave her an encouraging smile, knowing fully well she'd be fine and she'd do what Jack had told her to do perfectly.

"Right Jack, whats the plan?"

"Just what it looks like," Jack told her, shrugging. "We go see who or what the look-alike is, and we figure out what we're doing from there." At Ianto's question, he looked at him, thinking for a moment. "Yeah, I think so. 'Weevils' and 'down a man' don't exactly go together well." In other words, yeah, Jack was a little concerned about the numbers issue. He figured they would deal with it when they got there, and if the Weevils or the clone-thing became problems... well, he wasn't necessarily above a necessary retreat if they got in over their heads.

Gwen placed the gun in the back of her jeans, covering it by her jacket.
"Right well we should take extra cans of weevil mace, at least we can subdue them quickly."

Ianto gathered as much weevil mace inside a backpack as the backpack took, as fast as he could. Then, he picked up his gun, checked it - fully loaded - and walked over to stand beside Gwen, expectantly.

While Gwen and Ianto prepared to leave, Jack got his coat and put it on. Coming back to find them ready, he gave them a nod. "All set?" It was a rhetorical question, and he didn't wait for an answer before he began leading the way down the narrow bit of tunnel that led to the vehicle entrance and thus the SUV.

Four minutes, most of which was merely getting through the tunnels and into the SUV, later, and Jack had the car started, and pressed the button on the bluetooth. "Tosh, don't guess I could beg a street name off of you?" he asked, smoothly. He was concerned, but he wouldn't sound it - it would worry the others more to know, he'd figured that out a long time ago. People worried if you didn't sound like you were perfectly confident.

Gwen climbed in the passenger side next to Jack and put her seatbelt on. She straightened her jacket arms and out and mentally prepared herself for the confrontation with the faux Owen.

Ianto followed Jack and Gwen, sliding into the SUV backseat, placing the backpack carefully beside him. He was completely focused, now, ready for possibly the biggest weevil confrontation he'd ever been a part of.
