9 Crimes (attn: Ross)

Martha had been home for almost thirty minuties now. Pictures frames were put away, a bottle of wine was being chilled and dinner from a italian restraunt not far from her home was on the way. Her dark hair was free from her ponytail from earlier and she had changed from her work clothes to a simple knee length flowing pale skirt and matching top. A band the same colour, keep her hair from her face.

She paced the living room, looking down at her watch every now and then. It had been awhile since she had a real date and butterflies filled her stomach. Some say she had moved to fast with Tom, she was starting to think that maybe they had been right. She was still young, she still needed to have fun. Ross made her feel like that again.

A knock came at the door causing her to turn aburtly towards it. Her hands shook as she walked towards the door. Placing her hand on the handle, she turned and pulled the door open.

It had taken him nearly an hour to pull in enough favors to get a car, let alone cross the city to the address on the paper. He had wondered the whole journey over there if she'd still want him, or if she'd have changed her mind. What if she was sending him to the wrong place, and was sat laughing about it right now. He almost turned back several times, and at every set of lights, and roundabout the thought ran through his head more times then could be good. To say the least he was nervous. Should he bring flowers, or not, should he try and borrow some non-uniform clothes off someone. Eventually he decided to just go as he was, and hope for the best.

He smiled to her. Nervously at military ease. He couldn't help it, over 10 years of training had made it natural to him. "Errm. Hello...." he frowned this was weird and slightly unnerving, it felt so normal and so unlike what it really was.

"Errm. Hello...."

Martha noticed his frown and one formed on her own. She had gotten dressed up for nothing. Here he was still in the clothes from eariler, hands at his side and talking to her as if they were still on the base.

"You didn't have to come if you didn't want to," Martha replied disrejectedly.

Her brow furrowed as she watched him. She would have asked him to come in but the look on his face told her otherwise.

"You didn't have to come if you didn't want to,"

He swallowed, he was more nervous about this then he had been fighting off aliens. He pulled his hands out from behind his back, revealing a small bunch of flowers. Some yellow and pink roses and some foliage.

"I did.." He tried to smile, "Just a little nervous..."

His hand snaked out from behind his back to reveal a small but beautiful bunch of yellow and pink roses. Martha's frown slowly dissapaited and a warm soft smile formed on her lips. She take the small cluster of flowers from him while he looked at nervously.

"I did.."

She watched him try to smile but the nervousness was overtaking him.

"Just a little nervous..."

She reached her other hand out towards him. She wiggled her fingers at him and smiled when he took them. She led him into her house. Well, Tom and hers house, but Tom was never here was he.

"You don't have to be nervous," Martha said, letting go of his hand and walking towards the kitchen.

She returned only seconds later with a vase filled with water and the flowers.

"They are beauitful, thank you," she replied, moving passed him to place the fireplace and put the vase on the mantle.

He smiled to her, following where she led him.

"Sorry, I don't do this much..." He smiled at her, gathering his confidence.

As she walked away he looked carefully around him, it seemed like an ordinary house, not that he'd had much experiance of normal houses. He smiled at her as she came back in.

"Glad you like them." He smiled at her, wondering what she was expecting to happen next.

She smiled at him while she walked back over to him. She fidgeted with the skirt she was wearing. She had always been more comfortable in trousers and a nice top.

"I ordered dinner," she replied, standing before him. She looked into his blue eyes for a minute then moved her eyes towards the window. "I hope italian is okay," she replied after a moment.

She stood before him for a moment before remembering the glasses in the kitchen. She once again disappeared into the kitchen, returning with two crystal glasses and a chilled bottle of champhagne.

"I'm not the greatest cook in the world," she replied, pouring him a glass then handing it to him. "I ordered from the italian baestro not far from here," she added, pouring herself a glass then set the bottle on the coffee table.

He noticed her fidgeting with the skirt.

"You look stunning." He breathed, eyes drifting over her outfit, licked his lips, looking up as she spoke.

He looked back at her into her eyes, words barely registering. "Yeah. Italian is great."

He frowned as she disappeared again, but grinned when she returned with a bottle and two glasses. He took the glass off her, seeing it was Champagne. He grin grew wider.

"I think we've got this a bit mixed up, isn't the man meant to pour the drinks?" He joked, in fact in his experience it was normally the man who did all this. He heard her talking about her cooking.

"Sounds nice." he smiled to her. "My cooking isn't exactly international chief standard either. Take out is good." He moved closer to her, holding his glass up to hers.

She brought up her glass and let it clink with his. Martha watched him while she took a sip of her drink. Tom had always been a beer person, she never did like the taste of it much.

"Thank you for coming," she replied, bringing the glass away from her lips. She licked her lips, savouring the taste of the pink liquid.

She stepped closer to him, her body becoming only inches from his. She could feel his breath on her face. As much as she wanted to take him, there and now, she steadied herself. She turned her eyes towards the door when she heard a car door close outside the house.

"That would be dinner," she replied hoarsely, her voice low. She walked away from him and answered the door. A man in a red uniform added the bags of food and she paid him the money she had laying on the table.

"Smells wonderful," she replied heading for the kitchen. She held her hand out for him to take. "Coming?" she asked.

His lips were so close hers, he wanted to lean in and kiss her, he could feel her breath on his face, but he heard a car door close, and she stepped back.

"That would be dinner,"

He sighed as she walked away, watching as she grabbed the money off the table and headed to the kitchen. He looked at the out held hand.

"Coming?"

He smiled, taking her hand. "Wouldn't miss it for the world." He stepped forwards, tempted to sweep her up, up reileased he just hurt himself, and get lost, not to mention generally people expected food to be eaten when it had been ordered.

"Do you want me pay?" He stepped up beside her.

"Do you want me pay?"

Martha turned and looked at him with cheeky smile. She continued to walk them into the kitchen were plates and more glasses. Placing the bags on the table, she turned and looked at him.

"Will you stop being such a gentleman," she replied, smiling at him. "Let a lady pay for once. I'm not exactly poor," she giggled.

She brought her hand up and caressed his cheek. She slowly leaned towards him, her lips stopping just inches from his. She wanted him to make the move now.

Looked at interest at the setting, but his interest waned as the beautiful women in front of him.

"Will you stop being such a gentleman," she replied, smiling at him. "Let a lady pay for once. I'm not exactly poor,"

He was going to reply to her, but decided against it as she leaned into him. His breath caught in his throat he looked into her eyes.

"Teasing is not nice." He said softly with a smile, leaning in and kissing her softly. He pulled back a little and spoke into her lips, just millimeters away.

"But now you want me to be the gentleman.." He kissed her again, more heatedly and passionately. Hands on her waist, staring into her eyes, random thoughts gently coursing through his mind like. Damn she's beautiful. Her eyes are amazing, and the echo of his life, why am I this short. At 5'8 he was exactly tiny, roughly Martha's height in-fact, but it would be nice to have a bit of height on the average lady. He focused his thoughts again, trying to deepen the kiss with Martha.

Martha moved her hands to the back of his head, deepening the kiss. She snuggled her body as close to his as her body would allow. His arms wrapped around her waist and she could feel him against her. She could have gave anything to take him right and now but she didn't want to look easy. She slowly begin to pull away.

"I'm sorry," she replied, looking down at her feet. "I don't know what's come over me," she breathed out slowly. "I asked you here for dinner, a drink or two and to talk not to..." she trailed off, breathing slowly. Her hands were still on the back of his head and she forcefully and fumsily brought his lips to hers again.

He smiled into her lips, pulling her in closer, kissing her lightly. "No need to be" he kissed her again, "sorry." He kissed her deeply, running his hands round her back, his left hand onto her arse, gently squeezing, "I'm not."

He kissed her again, trying to turn around and push her towards the wall. "Complaining.." He laughed softly into her mouth again, licking her lips, kissing with a bit more force, replying to all her own force and passion, trying to remain gentle and loving whilst being passionate.
